We embarked upon a journey 20 years back to devlop into the best tertiary care centre for gastroenterology across the state. We bring to you, some snippets of the same. 2002: In addition to routine diagnostic and therapeutic GI endoscopies, we started picture and video based reporting for the first time in Rajasthan. 2003: As time evolved, so did we. Around this time as Interventional Radiology was developing around the globe, we brought the same to this state. Venturing into the challenging and exciting world of IR, we were the first institution to bring to you a variety of IR- guided GI procedures including PTBD and percutaneous abscess drainage with catheter. 2005: As our system evolved so did our scope of treatment. By, 2005 we also introduced tertiary care GI surgeries like Whipple hepatectomy and esophageal surgeries in addition to routine lap surgeries. 2007 : Expansion of our system and services further included introduction of EUS and double balloon enteroscopies in the state. 2012 : widening the reach of our services, we installed the latest cardiac cath lab with the siemen zee plus flat panel & started complex vascular interventions like TIPS TACE EMBOLIZATION etc 2013: By the grace of god and the immense public support we received, we were able to increase the Hospital bed strength to 150 beds. 2016 : We received the NABH/ NABL certification endorsing quality gastroenterology treatment 2017: Conducted the first of it’s kind- AEW ( Advance endoscopy workshop). A national event where we performed and educated doctors regarding the most recent updates happening globally in the field of gastroenterology. Complex procedures like POEM and cholangioscopies were demonstrated. Since then we have been regularly performing complex ‘3 rd space endoscopic’ procedures Including 150 POEM procedures, 165 cholangioscopies with laser lithotripsy and spy bite biopsy for indeterminate stricture. Along with this we also introduced investigations like Manometery and liver elastography. 2019: we received DNB accreditation and introduced and our second AEW (advance endoscopy workshop) For first time in the state- bariartic endoscopy was initiated and ESGs were done 2021: We not only conducted out third AEW (advance endoscopic workshop) but also introduced spiral enteroscopy and EUS-ERCP-EDGE for the first time across the state. As of date we at SRK provide the latest, most comprehensive GI care. Dedicated liver ICU with complete support, dedicated histopathology with IHC, Intervention radiology Deptt proficient in performing TIPS TACE RFA PTBD & other complex procedures. Therapeutic gastroenterology matches the best in country and internationally with each and every equipment as available like three 190 Olympus endoscope workstations with single balloon, double balloon ,EUS two stations, spiral enteroscope, POEM set up, cholangioscopy with laser , neuro gastro unit(hydrogen breath test, Manometery ) Capsule endoscopy etc. Taking into account the volume of work ( >10,000 endoscopy per year, 5000 IPD AND 20 thousand OPD consultations ) NBE thereby increased it’s accreditation to two seats per year. Our aim and intent stays the same- to ensure comprehensive gastro care at the most reasonable price possible.
